This is our first post. Putting yourself out there is always a little scary at first, but we’re not nervous because we’re not doing alone. We have you. (Yes, you.) This will be a collaborative space and we’d love for you to be a part of it.
We’ve run blogs before, but we’re hoping that we won’t “run” this one alone. It’s our hope that we will all work together, each contributing our own unique points of view. This is not a site run by bloggers behind a curtain. This is a platform for girls (although boys are welcome too) to come together to create, share, encourage, and empower.
We’d like for everyone to tell their own stories in their own words and we invite everyone to participate by either submitting your stories or simply by supporting your fellow contributors with uplifting comments.
Our goal is to help today’s youth foster their genuine selves through the concepts of sisterhood, leadership, awareness, and empowerment. We encourage collaboration over competition and want everyone to have the confidence to live their truest life: one that is filled with strength, laughter, acceptance, and the freedom of expression. We will be a safe place where everyone can be completely themselves, celebrating their differences, and finding unity in diversity.
If you have any questions, ideas for stories, things you’d like to see more or less of, or want to send your SLAE story, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Welcome to our little internet party. We’re glad you could make it!
